...And here guys, you can find two special interviews which had been taken from two Greek magazines!I translated them into English just for you!!!Take a look!
"PART I"
-Are you happy from the reception of your new album, till now? VALO:Yes,although it's too early to say it.It has been released very recently...Anyhow,it seems that people like it and it satisfy us very much. -Is it an outcome from your two last albums or is it something completely different?
VALO:No,I couldn't say that we went so far away from whatever we had done till now,it's rather a development of that.Besides,I believe that the musicians who can do every time something different are not so many.most of us continue from the point we had stopped the previous time...
-So there aren't many differences between "Deep Shadows And Brilliant Highlights" and your second LP which was and this one which consecrate you?
VALO:There aren't any special differences, with the exception from the fact that it is more complete in its intensions, more exact in its materialization, more melodic and generally we are approaching more whatever we had had in our mind when we started making it.
-You had worked with many producers and sound engineers. How was the cooperation with them?
VALO:It's a bit funny, because we cooperated with people who had worked with Bon Jovi but also with Metallica or with names of the industrial metal! We made a lot of changes,we even reached to record some songs again from the beginning but fortunately the result was not so bad and it is constant and homogenous.
-The title of the album is a report in the old, black and white photos. Are you influenced from the movies and do you see your music in the pictures, like writing the soundtrack of a non-existent movie,as many of your colleagues are declaring the last years?
VALO:I like cinema,I always esteem a good movie...But I don't write music by imagining different pictures,as my music so and my lyrics are talking about real events, things that have lived and things that had happened to me.
-So you haven't ever try to tell a story by putting yourself in somebody else's position?
VALO:I have tried it,but it doesn't work, something is not going the right way...So I prefer talking about myself, without that meaning that I am selfish!
-How do you call your music?
VALO:Simply rock, and this time, a bit closer to the blues than it was in the past.
-How does the term "love metal",which had used to describe your music, sound to you?
VALO:We invented this definition for our first album which,to say the truth, had many influences from heavy metal. But not and our next one...
-Why did you delay so much to release your LP,when your previous one had such a great success?
VALO:The time isn't as much as it seems because in the meantime we toured for a really long time and inevitably we also relaxed for a period of time. But we also went in the studio so we hadn't delayed so much...
-"Join Me"became also a great hit,for those which others are scared that they'll have only once in their career and that they could never get over them.Do you feel the same way?
VALO:Of course not,I believe that we will do even better things in the future and that we will gain even greater success!
-Then have you become bored with that, after the innumerable times that you have sung it?
VALO:No,you can never become bored with your sing which had been loved so much by the people and has become part of yor life. You feel proud of it every time you play it,like I believe it would happen f.e with Blach Sabbath and with "Paranoid"...
-How important is for you the success in U.S.?
VALO:Look, undeniably having success there,is a very big market and also very important. However, from the otherside,Europe is pretty nice,L like living and creating here...
-So you wouldn't sacrifice something from your life in order to be successful there?
VALO:It hasn't been useful till now,but if I shoyld do it,not only to succeed in U.S. but also for my music,I would do it unhesitating. For me,my music is above all!
-Now tell me about that incident in Amsterdam, when you become a topic in the news...
VALO:(sighing)It wasn't anything significant...With my tour manager,we had visited some bars,we drunk a bit more and we returned in our hotel doing the same. And then,to our surprise,I fainted...Because in Holland, the laws against drugs are too free, they thought that I had taken an excessive dose and when I recovered,I was almost naked and I was wearing a pair of handcuffs! Finally, the necessary explanations were given, the police left and the manager of the hotel apologized...I'm not doing preaching for this, but I'm not over drugs,as they detach my attention from the most important thing,my music. However,I don't say no in a drink, and maybe in two or even in three!
-Are there any other groups with which you feel close in what you do,not only in the music side but also in the feelings side?
VALO:Always good stuff is coming out but no,there isn't anyone with whom I identify.Only my music express me...
-Somewhere here I have to say goodbye although I think we will see you soon in Greece...
VALO:Don't worry about that!
***So simple, friendly and unassuming,in such a great grade, where it's impossible to avoid considering the blatant contrast with other famous people who have not even the lalf of his success...***
